A Study on immunoserological characteristics of phytagglutinin, Korean Dolichos lablab L.

Abstract
|
|
|
Extracts of Korean Dolichos lablab L. were prepared in the usual manner, thereafter test of the agglutination with human whole blood and of agglutinating inhibition by human sera were carried out to clear of immunological characteristic of phytagglutinin, D. lablab L.
Kim et al. reported that human washed red blood cells (RBC) was divided into agglutinating group (DL (+)) and not agglutinating group (DL ()) by extracts of D. lablab and that the frequency of D(+) group was 98% and of D () group was 2%.
In this study, it was demonstrated that some human whole blood were agglutinated by D. lablab, while the others were not agglutinated. The frequency of the former was 94% and the latter was 6%
This difference of agglutination of D. lablab extracts by washed RBC and whole blood may be due to some inhibited substances which is contained in human sera.
Therefore, agglutinating inhibition test of D. lablab extracts by human sera was contained out. Normal human sera were also classified into two groups of DLI (Dolichos lablab inhibitor) by which agglutination of D. lablab with human RBC was inhibited and DLN (Dolichos lablab non-inhibitor) by which agglutination of D. lablab with human RBC was not inhibited.
The frequency of DLI was 86% and DLN was 10161 in 79 of normal human sera.
There was no relation between the frequency of agglutination of human whole blood by D. lablab extracts and with various diseases, neither with ABO blood groups.
